Quick Answer: How Do the Ten Areas Compare?

Town is the safe hub; the Dangerous Dungeon teaches the crawl across five sub-zones; the Old Mine is a single-floor crystal run; the Rocky Desert, Sandy Beach and Abandoned Forest are the open mid-game maps; the Slimy Sewer and Ghastly Glacier are the late quest lines (both 1.1% in launch-week achievement data); the Active Caldera is the errand zone; and the Cursed Castle ends the required story with the Regal Ruin boss. The castle assumes everything before it.

Sub-zone counts are read off the in-game area bar in official screenshots ("Sandy Beach 5 of 5" etc.). Percentages are global achievement unlock rates days after the September 28, 2026 launch (Steam API snapshot) β€” they show how deep players have gotten, not how hard an area is.

Early Game vs Late Game

The early bracket (Dangerous Dungeon, Old Mine, Rocky Desert, Sandy Beach) is where the game teaches: secret-hunting behind hollow walls, crystal mining for the portal network, and the first shelled durability checks. The late bracket (Abandoned Forest, Slimy Sewer, Ghastly Glacier, Cursed Castle) is where launch-week numbers collapse β€” the forest quest sits at 3.4%, and the sewer, glacier and castle achievements all sit at 2.2% or below. The Active Caldera's errand (5.7%) marks the transition: easy to attempt, easy to underestimate.

Which Area Pays First

For pure progression, the Dangerous Dungeon pays double: secrets feed the Hollow Wall and No Stone Unturned achievements, and the crystal veins feed the fast-travel network that makes every other area cheaper to reach. The Old Mine is the shortcut version β€” one floor, crystals, out. For gold, the open maps (Rocky Desert, Sandy Beach) are the fight-rich zones β€” more encounters per dive means more loot to haul back to the Town vendors.
